Bryna's views on our growing population

We are humans, we grow, we live in many different ways, in many different places. Our dictionary definition is:" all of the living human inhabitants of the earth. " But are there too many of us?
Population growth has been a large topic with many opinions for years now. Our population has significantly increased in the past few years and is still rapidly increasing. Although some people may believe, "the more the marrier", rapid population growth results in many problems. I am not the only one who believes this is a problem. If you check out Earth Talk's blog on population growth, you will see the same. So what are these problems that may occur? Well, first, think of our numbers today. In the world today we have about 6.6 billion, reaching 7 billion people. By the year 2050, we should have approximately 9 billion people on this planet. With 9 billion people on the planet, you can imagine the problems we could have to face. Some of the most important issues that we are facing, which many people don't take seriously enough, are environmental problems. Some of these environmental problems include loss of wildlife due to cutting down their habitats for housing, buisnesses, and commercializing, also increase of pollution in the air due to more cars, and other ways of transportation. Another issue we are facing is if we have enough food, water and health supplies to last for everyone living on our planet.Population growth is a result of many things like no access to birth control, and according to another source, improvements in health care which is extending life expectancies.
(And we just keep growing.. )

So what is my opinion on this issue ? Well, we are obviously a population that is growing very rapidly, and that is a big scare to many people, for all of these obvious reasons. I think it is a good thing that people are worrying so much about this issue. Maybe worrying about it so much will force us to make some changes, like finding a way to supply birth control to less developed countries. Even though there is a huge boom in population, we still have a large portion of our population in poverty, children and adults not getting the food they need, developing diseases, dying, and more. So maybe instead of focusing on the scare of a large population, we help those who are suffering and create a better world for our population we have today.
